Sinopec Nanjing Chemical Industries CCUS Cooperation Project
|
Sinopec Nanjing is operating a CCUS facility at the Sinopec Nanjing Chemical in Nanjing city, China. Since 2021, the newly built facility captures CO2 from synthetic ammonia units and coal-to-gas units. The capture capacity is up to 0.2 Mtpa. The CO2 is trucked to the Jiangsu Oil Field, Subei Basin for enhanced oil recovery.
Very limited information is available for this facility.
A second facility, Sinopec Nanjing Chemical Industries CCUS Cooperation Project, also trucks CO2 to the Jiangsu Oil Field for Enhanced Oil Recovery.

Mt. Simon CCS Hub (Iowa Illinois Carbon Pipeline)
|
Wolf Carbon Solutions is developing the Mt. Simon Hub (formerly Iowa Illinois Hub), a 280-mile steel pipeline, which will be used to transfer 12 (Mtpa) of CO2.
Under a non-binding Letter of Intent, Wolf Carbon Solutions and ADM have agreed that CO2 generated at ADM's corn processing plants located in Clinton and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will be transported through the newly constructed pipeline to ADM's current Carbon Capture and Storage facility in Decatur, and potentially to other sites owned by Wolf in the future.
Wolf will be responsible for developing, permitting, and building the CO2 pipeline, and once it is built, Wolf will own and operate it.
In 2022, the project was announced, and it is scheduled to initiate pipeline construction in 2024, with a projected operational launch set for 2025.

Bayou Bend CCS project
|
The Bayou Bend CCS project is currently being developed by Talos’ Low Carbon Solutions division and Carbonvert. In 2021, a joint venture between Talos and Carbonvert – now known as Bayou Bend CCS – was the winning bidder for the Texas General Land Office's in Jefferson County, Texas, carbon storage lease, located in state waters offshore Beaumont and Port Arthur, Texas. The Bayou Bend CCS project site encompasses over 40,000 gross acres and, based on Talos and Carbonvert's preliminary estimates, could potentially sequester 225 to 275 million metric tons of carbon dioxide from industrial sources in the area." Bayou Bend, LLC, is expanding its project footprint from ~40,000 acres to ~140,000 acres through the acquisition of ~100,000 acres onshore in Chambers and Jefferson Counties, Texas (Announced in 2023).
